Beckman Coulter Multisizer 4e – Particle Size Analyzer and Counter
The Multisizer 4e particle size analyzer and counter is the most precise and versatile particle characterization system on the market, featuring an unmatched measurement range of 0.2 to 1600 μm. The new 10 μm aperture enables the analysis of subcellular particles and microparticles down to 200 nm, while an advanced noise-reduction system for small apertures enhances measurement accuracy.
Acquired data is processed using patented digital pulse processing technology; it can be stored and re-analyzed at a later time. This technology delivers extremely high resolution and accuracy—levels unattainable with other methods—allowing for the detection of a single particle in 1 mL of sample under optimal instrument configuration. Analysis results are independent of particle shape, structure, or optical properties.
The instrument employs the Coulter Principle for particle detection via Electrical Zone Sensing, independent of the nature or optical properties of the particles. This makes it an ideal instrument for detecting and counting a wide variety of particles, such as:
Mammalian cells
Bacteria
Yeast
Abrasives
Toner particles
Cell aggregates
Spheroids
Large protein aggregates
