The Grant Instruments PMS-1000 is a professional laboratory microplate shaker designed for controlled and reproducible mixing of liquids in microplates. Such plates are widely used in molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, biotechnology, and various analytical laboratory procedures. The shaker ensures that liquids in the individual wells are mixed evenly and, where required, that settled material is effectively resuspended.
The unit operates with a horizontal orbital shaking motion. The shaking speed can be continuously adjusted from approximately 150 to 1,000 rpm, allowing both gentle mixing and more intensive agitation. The platform operates with a constant orbital amplitude.

Microplate Capacity
The standard version is equipped with a platform for two microplates. An optional MPP-4 platform was also available for applications requiring up to four plates.
The microplates are secured to the platform using screw-type fasteners, helping to keep them firmly in place even at higher shaking speeds.
The PMS-1000 also features an integrated timer with automatic shut-off, allowing time-sensitive laboratory procedures to be performed in a reproducible manner. A digital time display and front-panel controls provide convenient operation.
